The biggest influence on my life for writing was my teachers. Reading books such as To Kill a Mockingbird, The Odyssey, Great Expectations, and Tom Sawyer instilled a sense of adventure in me that still burns. Short stories, including To Build a Fire, my favorite, and The Most Dangerous Game, showed us how man could overcome adversity. If one of those books influenced my life, it would probably be 'Mutiny on the Bounty' because its theme is men standing up for what is right and fair.

Poetry has been an outlet for my deepest feelings. Poems I have written deal with man's ability and disability to live with himself. His peaceful feelings clashing with his warlike qualities forever make him both an individual and part of a constantly evolving civilization. After all, the mettle of this man is distinguished by his courage and humility.

I have also written twelve screenplays:

My last job was making miniatures. I was involved in creating a quarter-inch scale version of Monticello and its grounds, and involved in making a half-inch scale of the old and new Supreme courts and the Jefferson State Room. Monticello and the Jefferson room are in museums, and the Supreme Court is on permanent display in the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. Among other things, I made a twenty-seven-room mansion and made many people happy by recreating their childhood homes or dreams.
