This isn’t a love story, it’s a matter of survival.

Description

"Brave, unflinching, full of love and empathy. I couldn't put it down!" - Alison Star Locke, Writer/Director of The Apology.

It’s my last year in high school and in foster care. I’ve spent ten years trying not to become a statistic - I get near-perfect grades, I have great friends, and I plan to go to law school after graduation.

When I’m emergency-placed in a new foster home, I find myself living with - and falling for - the hottest, most charming guy in school. What starts as a whirlwind romance quickly becomes a nightmare.

As my first love threatens to destroy me, I struggle to break free of him. I’m not sure I’m strong enough to let him go.

This isn’t a love story, it’s a matter of survival.

What No One Sees is a gritty coming of age tale that explores abusive relationships, trauma bonds, and the strength it takes to escape.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Heart-Wrenching Must Read That Stays With You!

Wow. I could not put this book down. “What No One Sees” is absolutely gut-wrenching—in the most powerful way. Zena Logan's writing is nothing short of phenomenal. She paints such a vivid, immersive picture that it truly feels like you are living inside the pages, experiencing the pain, struggle, and quiet resilience of the characters firsthand.

This book offered me a new, deeply personal perspective on abuse—how horrible, complicated, and challenging it truly is for the victims. It doesn’t shy away from the emotional messiness, the internal conflicts, or the societal blind spots that surround abuse. Instead, it brings them to light with honesty and raw humanity.

My heart goes out to every real-life person who has endured anything like what’s portrayed in this story. Logan gives them a voice through her characters—one that’s honest, brave, and unforgettable.

If you're looking for a story that will move you, shake you, and stay with you long after the last page, “What No One Sees” is it. It's not just a book; it's a ride—and an exceptional one at that. I highly recommend reading every page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and healing for victims of narcissists

Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2025

Wow, that book rocked me to the core over and over. So many things hit me square in the eyes. It may be triggering for victims of narcissistic abuse, and technically it is, but in a healing way that I did not expect. It was akin to attending a meeting of victims of narcs, if that exists. Being able to see someone else who thinks EXACTLY the same way I did in a previous relationship, identifying so hard with why she made the choices she did. Understanding and connecting with her at such a deep level, and forgiving her for it. It helped me forgive myself.

This is an absolutely powerful and incredible book that needs to be in the hands of so many. It deserves to be.
